This is my first travel blog.Am really excited to start this 😃.
Starting this blog with short intro of me .Hi I am CMA ,I love travelling.
Though this was only in words as my travel was limited.Now am kind of good driver
with my Polo.So started exploring the world with my mother .She also enjoys travelling.
After my lot of research about the route to take to OOTY from Bengaluru being a fresher in driving convinced my mother and here we go finally made it on 11th Aug 2017.
OOTY the name usually gets the green tea estate to our mind .And yes its really a cool feeling .
OOTY as many of you know it is favourite shooting spot in movies.Lets start with the plan
to do to reach Ooty from Bengaluru.After my research i got the below picture of the route which is
the best one via bandipur. I wanted to go via Bandipur as we go crazy seeing the animals on the way .
There is another route as well which is via Kanakpura road .
Route summary from Bengaluru to Ooty is as below:
As I said I chose to drive by Gudalur Road /Bus route via Bandipur to Ooty.This is 20km extra than the hairpin bend adventure road.
There are many good resorts ,when booked in advance gets good deal.
We got a hotel near Botanical garden with good deal.This location was prime location and was near to almost all the places.
Finally started the trip at 5.30 am in the morning .I had got the phone holder and car charger which are kind of mandatory when the route is not familiar.Our first break was for the breakfast at 7 at a Kamat. Then uhoo the highway was good enough to reach mysore which we did by 9.
As soon as we enter Mysore there is a board to ooty [this is longer route dont take this] , take bandipur route which is to your left via Nanjangud .Finally crossed gundlupet and reached the Bandipur entrance.
Be cautious when you take Bandipur route ,this route is closed from 6pm - 6 am .You have to cross this before the mentioned time.And as you are passing through Bandipur forest follow the forest rules do not honk .Do not panic when you see any animal like Elephant ,give way do not move.Single Elephant is more dangerous than the elephant in herds.Put your car glass on as a safety.
I was really excited to drive in this route,its my first time with animals on the side .
I was saw two elephants and stag ,many deers and peacock.
Once the Bandipur forest ends its the entrance to the Madumalai forest[Forest in TamilNadu].
You can slow down a bit to get a clear view of the aanimals near by the comes the checkpost where we have to take deviation depending on route.Gudalur road is towards your right.36 hair pin bend on the left.
As I mentioned we took Gudalur route ,there I could read as tiger reserve dint get a chance though.
A lot of speed breakers in this route .Once we exit from the Gudalur route a big Hill is visible .This is the one which i should be going to .My mother really got pannicked thinking that its such a big hill and I cant drive in the ghat section.I somehow convinced her.This route was awesome and breathtaking ,ghat section.You will see many tea estates and Nilgiris on the way , also you will see many carrots and corns on the way .
We got down at one of the tea estate to take pictures.One of it is below one.
Finally by 2.30 pm we reached Ooty and luckily reached correctly with help of google maps.
We both checked into the hotel Garden Manor very near to botanical Garden and parked our car .As we were damn hungry we enquired and for restaurants.We got finally one small hotel where we had prawn gravy and chapati.Here you also get some parota ,try this it tastes nice.
We went back to hotel and rested .I was damn tired ,never drove this far.I slept off.Then at 7pm I woke up and saw it was damn cold and i had to wear my monkey cap.
We just went for a walk , as our stay was near to Botanical Garden could see many essential oils and tea powder shops,Chocolate shops.We both enjoyed the sweet corn in the cold weather had good tea,
headed back to hotel.
Back in the hotel we planned our next day trip.First point was Botanical garden.Next day we got up and got ready by 8.30am. The hotel we stayed had a beautiful terrace with variety of flower plants.Breakfast was served on terrace.The terrace was awesome .It looked filmy. My favourite was the below spot on terrace.
Botanical Garden was at walkable distance so started to our first point.We bought our tickets [Rs 30 per person].Keep the ticket till you come of this garden as they may ask it .
It is really beautiful place with all side hills, big trees greenary .The park is full of variety of plants and many big trees.Its a fest to your eyes and soul to be in such serene and calm place.Go early morning as there wont be that much crowd.

We rested and many photos after that headed to Lake .Outside botanical garden there will be autos.The rates to the various points is mentioned on the board.Lake was around 8 km from the botanical garden, We reached in 15mins. As you enter the lake side place ,take the entry ticket you can get tickets inside for boating.I took a peddling boat.My mother love it We paddled for nearly 30mins .Its very calm and breathtaking surrounding around the lake.We took toy train which run near this lake.
We had our lunch at jr kupanna which was tasty and very near again to botanical garden .
We headed back to hotel and took rest.Evening just went for a walk ,in the cool chilly weather .
Bought some nilgiri oil[which smelled heavenly],bought some homemade choclates -roated almond was my choice.
Next day I had the booking for the Toy train from Conoor to Ooty.But did not get the ticket from Ooty to Connor.So we first went to Rose garden .If you are a Rose lover.This
place is must visit .We saw roses of all variety and very big roses.One of my favourite was this white one.
Then we went to Railway station planning to get a ticket to conoor from Ooty .But no luck with it.
As we wanted to reach Conoor by 4 as our Toy train back was at 4.30pm.So near Railway station we boarded bus to Connor This bus was nearly empty and just 20 rs for both of us .The bus route is also very scenic and beautiful ,try it.Picture below tells more about it

We reached Conoor ,it was drizzling on the way.Tickets from Conoor will be available 2 hours before.This can be booked through irctc site as well in advance.

Please dont miss this ride of Toy train.And please sit on the left side when the train goes from Connor to ooty as most beautiful view is on left side .
Reached the hotel had nice dinner and next day was 15th august .Today we depart ooty.We saw the flag hoisting my Modi ji on TV and his speech as well.Started back to Bengaluru.
On the way got down at the Pine tree forest .This is favourite shooting point and awesome view of coniferous trees.My mother used to call them as Suji peni vriksha [kannanda] .We attended the flag hosting at this point and later got down and took some snaps and there is a lake as well at the end of this forest.Its good spot to visit.Some pictures are as below
Then we continued our way to Bengaluru,hoping to get down at tea estate to get pics.And we got down its awesome view in tea estates Try it
My mother enjoyed to fullest.And we headed back to our way to bengaluru.There was no much luck via Bandipur route as could see only deers.Finally with this cherished and memorable trip happily reached Bengaluru by 5.30pm .Its my favourite place now.I have suggested my sister to join for my next trip to ooty.Hope you enjoyed reading my story.I duno how to write any blogs its my first one .Hope I made justice to it.Yipee waiting to write my next .
